WHO WE ARE

OUR STORY

After the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017, the Windom’s returned home to Galveston County, Texas to assist with long term recovery efforts for the people of Greater Houston to provide healing, help, and hope. God then provided a vision for a church network along the I-45 corridor serving and uniting communities in an incarnational way. A partnership was formed between Jervie and Nilda’s local church of New Life Church (La Plata, MD), Sent Church (Plano, TX) and The Mountain Plains District of the Wesleyan Church. As believers in different zip codes prayed for the Houston area, God answered and RESONATE Church emerged.

RESONATE is currently partnering with local and national organizations to rebuild homes, provide jobs, and revitalize communities. When Hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area, the storm caused $125 billion in damage, damaged 203,000 homes, and destroyed 12,700. FEMA reported that 80 percent of all households affected by Harvey did not have flood insurance to help mitigate the financial impact of the disaster.

RESONATE refuses to allow Greater Houston residents to hang their heads as if there is no hope.  Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.” RESONATE exists to share the hope of Jesus Christ with Greater Houston. As a community of believers, RESONATE brings a commitment to community service, restoration of healthy families, and culture of gospel transformation intentionally welcoming the Holy Spirit into every affair that involves a human heart.
